What does a speech evaluation look like?

Evaluations take place in the comfort of your own home. For the beginning of the evaluations your child will participate in play based therapy and take the lead of the session focusing on their play preferences, interests, and communication strengths to ensure comfortability and confidence.
Once your child is comfortable, standardized testing may be included. Parent's are a critical part of the evaluation process, as you know your child the best. During the evaluation, you'll be asked questions to help the therapist gain a holistic picture of your child's communication strengths and how we can help them grow.

Where does therapy take place?

We offer in home therapy as well as at your child's daycare or preschool.

We want to ensure your little one is provided communication support across environments and exposed to language-rich experiences. We offer 'field trip' sessions at the park, beach, and other community locations, dependent on your child's area of growth.

My child receives speech services at school. Why would they need private therapy?
Do you want to be more involved in your child's communication development and learn how you can support them more at home? Does your child need support carrying over the skills they learn from their school speech services into all other areas of life? If so, give us a call.

After working for multiple school districts, we know the importance of quality of care and parent involvment. At school, children are seen in groups of 2-3 kids for 30 minute sessions with minimal time for parent communication. In home, private services allow for 50 minute sessions dedicated to your child only and playing in their world. All while using ever evolving strategies for optical communication growth. As we know that parent involvement is crucial for development, the last 10 minutes of each session are allocated to parent training and communication.
